Inspector infallibility

We have reached a stage in Wales that whatever an Inspector thinks is correct. This is true of ESTYN, Auditor General staffSSIW and many others.

How do we know this?
As far as I am aware their work is never peer reviewed by someone outside their organisation
Any one who has a disagreement over their judgement is just a whinger who will not accept their judgement
Another case of who inspects the inspectors

created for one reason and used for a different one

Two examples
The census data is collected by a splitting up wards into a series of areas for ease of collection. The data is used for creating community first areas, excellent where the area is homogenous but causes either very affluent areas to be in or very poor areas to be out where it is not.Sometimes it ends part of the way along a road!

Wales was given a fifth European seat in the days of first past the post european elections. This created 5 new seats which were then used to elect additional members to the national assembly of Wales. If Wales had not had a fifth seat some of the regional election results would have been different.

Major changes to Local Government in Wales

The following major changes have occurred to Local Government since I was first elected in 1989
1) End of the two tier system with County Councils and District Councils merging to form unitary authorities
2) Cabinet System of Governance with Scrutiny committees
3) Further Education and Higher Education taken out of local government
4) Chief officers were paid on a national scale depending upon council size
5) Thev autonomy of schools massively increased

Which of these changes has made things better?

Welsh Rugby and Europe

Last weekends results
Toulon 43 Cardiff Blues 20
Ospreys 17 Northampton 29        attendance 8347
Dragons 13 Bath 30                     attendance 6063
Racing Metro 13 Scarlets 19

Why is it Llanelli Scarlets  win at Racing Metro is the only suprise
Also Llanelli Scarlets could be the only team  that qualifies for the quarter finals

Less than 15000 wathched  the two games

compare that to 27750 watching Cardiff City versus West Ham

Regional Rugby
Remember when it was brought in to make Welsh teams able to mirror the success of the Irish regions in Europe

If that is the criteria, it has failed as Llanelli who are the only Welsh team likely to qualify did better as Llanelli rather than as a region
