I ,along with many of my constituents, am very happy that Swansea Council did not go ahead and apply for planning permission to provide a gypsy/traveller site in Llansamlet. There is one official site in the Llansamlet/Morriston area and it would not be fair on the gypsy/traveller community to limit their options to just one small part of Swansea.
I hope that the Council will work quickly to find a suitable site to ensure both an adequate provision and an opportunity for Gypsy/Travellers to live outside the Morriston/Llansamlet area.
